Wyoming welcomes visitors to "one of the most beautiful and
varied places in the continental United States." And they
are not wrong! The terrain varies from desert to buttes to
varied rock formations to hidden valleys and canyons to
mountains near 14,000 feet. The Organ trail crosses this state
and visitors can trace the trail and view many famous landmarks
such as the Oregon Buttes, Split Rock, Independence Rock and
South Pass. Not too far from this area is Wyoming's one
and only 22-mile rail trail:
Wyoming Heritage Trail Riverton/Shoshoni area Recent information from the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy records four current trail projects in Wyoming for an additional 44 miles. For a list of other trails, check out the Rails-To-Trails' TrailLink.com, and search for a list of all the trails in the state. This is your best resource for additional information. Wyoming is the home of both the Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton National Park.
