Riding in Canada's Beautiful Jasper National Park

This park is too beautiful for words. You have to experience it to believe it. It's the only place we've been that the big horn sheep come down in the highway -- every day. It's the only place we've heard of that, if you are lucky, you can see mountain goats on the side of the road. Almost close enough to touch. See our pictures below.

Although you see many bicyclist on the park roads, we would not ride there. We just do not like to compete with cars, and there is no shoulder pavement. However, we did find a residential road where we could ride. The road around Lake Edith provides access to cabins on the lake. In fact, you can't drive all the way around; there are two portions of the road that are closed to vehicles making it a perfect bike or hiking route.

It's a short route, but so very enjoyable that we rode it twice. If I had it to do over again I would have made three rounds!
