Bicycle Trails in Canada

Canada is in the process of building a trail across the entire country. It was scheduled to be completed in the year 2000. As of this date, October 2001, it is not complete but much progress has been made. Check out The Official Web Site of the Trans Canada Trail to see the path the trail takes to cross each Provence. There you will find links to obtain official information on individual trails. Another good reference is Tour Canada.

We've ridden five portions of the Trail. They are:

The Cole Harbour Salt Marsh Trail — Near Halifax, Nova Scotia

The Confederation Trail — Prince Edward Island

The Galloping Goose Trail — Vancover Island, British Columbia (Victoria and North)

The Myra Canyon portion of the Kettle Valley Railway — British Columbia (Near Kelowna)

The Othello Tunnel portion of the Kettle Valley Railway — British Columbia (Near Hope)

Although it's not part of the Trans Canada Trail, we biked one afternoon in Jasper National Park. It's too beautiful not to include:

Jasper National Park — Alberta Province.

Another that is not part of the Trans Canada Trail but deserves a mention is:

Whistler — British Columbia.
