Great Bicycle Trails

Riding in Southern Idaho
on the Wood River Trails

Between the towns of Ketchum and Bellevue in the Sawtooth Mountains of southern Idaho there is a 22-mile paved trail system that is popular with outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy bicycling, skating, walking, skiing or horseback riding. The Sun Valley trails link to this trail at Elkhorn Road and in the town of Ketchum, adding another 10 miles.

While bicycling in this beautiful valley you ride by horse ranches, small hay fields, ski slopes, golf courses, and historical sites with markers to inform trail users of the area's colorful history.

This is not an official Woods River Trails site. It is simply our endorsement of a trail that we enjoyed and want people to know about; however, please see Trails From Rails for more information and a map. For a brochure that includes a map contact:

Views from the Woods River Trails

Riding down this trail you feel surrounded by the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains.

There are information boards along the way. Very helpful for visitors to the area.

We thought this "bike rack" was the most unique we had ever seen. How original!

This area is called "Boxcar Bend". The history information on this sign is fascinating. It tells how log jams and high water has washed out the bank many times in the past -- once even leaving the railroad tracks, which were taken up to build this trail, dangling in mid-air.
