Riding Bicycle Trails
In Whistler

Following is our experience when we rode in this area September 2003.

Whistler Village is an enchanting alpine style, pedestrian-only village surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is truly an international resort with 200 shops in the area along with art galleries, souvenir and gift shops, more than 90 restaurants, etc.

The Village is most famous as a ski resort and is now preparing to host the 2010 Winter Olympics.

It is also famous for its Mountain Bike Park and trails. Whistler Mountain Bike Park is home to the Village Gondola that carries bikers by the thousands to the top for thrilling rides down. Those who want an extreme challenge can take a trail with huge drops, obstacles, ramps, teeter totters and all sorts of ways to do stunts on two wheels. Other trails are not quite as challenging. Trails are rated: Green Circle - Beginner, Blue Square - Intermediate, and Black Diamond - Expert. Visitors who would rather watch can sit on bleachers at the bottom and be amazed!

But for those of us who are not interested in mountain single-track riding there are miles of paved walking/biking trails around many golf courses, through residential areas and around lakes. So there's something for everyone. It's a beautiful interesting place to visit.

See a few of our photos and comments below.
